CHRISTIANS ENGAGED BLOG
Psalm 70 – Poor and Needy
There are days and weeks when attacks are thick and the pains are deep. I have been going through one of those seasons. There are sufferings that we choose – inconveniencing ourselves for the gospel, to disciple someone, giving up resources till it hurts for the Kingdom – and then there are times where we go through sufferings that we didn’t choose.
2022 WAKE UP! Conference
Christians around America are waking up. We can’t sit on the sidelines any longer.
God is breaking down walls between denominations, races, and generations and uniting us around a mission of prayer and action for the nation that we love.
America needs us, the Body of Christ, to be fully awake and engaged.
Join us at the Wake UP! Conference – September 23 and 24th in Dallas Fort Worth.
Psalm 66 – Declaring the Greatness of His Power
According to Jewish tradition – this Psalm was written as a Passover Psalm with two parts – First to celebrate the huge victory and “bigness” of God delivering the children of Israel out of Egypt and taking them out of the hand of Pharaoh. Secondly to declare the vow and the sacrifices that they would give God after seeing His goodness again.
2022 Mid-Year Report
Our mid-year letter and report for 2022 with updates from Christians Engaged President, Bunni Pounds.
History Belongs to the Intercessors (Part 4) - Prayer for National Impact
In Daniel 10, Daniel was serving a Persian King. He had made it through the Babylonian kingdom – the trials and tests of the Lion’s Den, the Golden Statue of Nebuchadnezzar and his friends getting thrown into the fiery furnace, and the dreams and interpretations from God surrounded by “the wise men”. He had been tested and tried and had come out of it all with a greater relationship with God and even more authority.
How does prayer impact a nation?
History Belongs to the Intercessors (Part 3) - My Story
I never saw it coming. I had been a political consultant for 10 years and the main Member of Congress that I worked for announced his retirement. We couldn’t find a conservative candidate to take his place. So, after weeks of carrying a burden, seeing the need of the district, praying, and asking God to raise someone up, I acted on that burden. I jumped into the Congressional race. I never saw it coming.
History Belongs to the Intercessors (Part 2) - What is An Intercessor?
Like a lawyer intercedes for his clients in a court of law, we petition God.
Like an assistant carrying out the orders of her boss and becoming the go-between of him and the other employees, we can ask for God’s will to be done here on earth as it is in heaven.
Intercession is delegation. It is mediation. It is carried authority through representation.
History Belongs to the Intercessors (Part 1) - Our Need for Prayer
Behind the greatest evangelist of the Second Great Awakening — Charles Finney — knelt a man of intercession: Daniel Nash.
Finney, through his passionate appeals for people to come to God, saw hundreds of thousands of conversions happen all over New York and beyond in the early 1800s. Unknown to most, this move of God contained a secret weapon. Nash.
Thanksgiving and Praise – The Key to God’s Presence
There is nothing that fills us up or fulfills us more than God’s presence.
There is nothing that gets us into the presence of God faster than thanksgiving and praise.
There is not a greater lost art in the Body of Christ than breaking out of selfishness into thankfulness and praise toward God.
Entering his presence with thanksgiving opens the gates of our hearts. When we are with Him, we are complete, whole, and free.
Psalm 63 – My Soul Shall Be Satisfied
I can motivate us all to go impact our cities, counties, states, and nations – but if we try to do it without walking with Jesus – it will be empty and shallow.
Psalm 62 – Trust in the Lord Alone
Quieting our soul – though extremely hard – in the middle of all the noise in our modern world from entertainment to news sources, to social media, to professional pressures, to family struggles – brings rest and renewal of the truth in our hearts.
Psalm 61- The Heritage of Abiding
There is a cry that leaves our lips that brings salvation; then God becomes our shelter, our tabernacle, and our heritage.
Eternal life is not just eternal life for nothing. It has a purpose. The purpose is found in Psalm 61:8 “So I will sing praise to Your name forever, That I May daily perform my vows.”
Psalm 60 – Restore Us Again!
No one can heal us and restore us other than God. Putting our trust in men or women to change or repair their broken states will not work.
We have to completely depend on the Creator, the Redeemer, and the Restorer of our souls – Jesus.
Psalms 54 – Out of All Trouble
David is betrayed. It is brutal. It is personal. And it is real.
This is his cry for help to God. His prayer where he seeks understanding from God of the trials he is going through.
Amicus Brief to the Supreme Court to Protect Religious Liberty
On May 5th - I personally signed onto a second Amicus Brief to the U.S. Supreme Court as President of Christians Engaged. This brief was organized by a non-profit called Advancing American Freedom (Founded by former Vice President Mike Pence) on a very important national case - Kennedy v. Bremerton School District. This case could be one of the most important in our nations’ history to protect the religious freedom of government employees.
Psalm 59 - For God is My Defense
God knows that His SON – JESUS – will be set on His holy hill from the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem and the kings of the earth will bow down to Him.
The secret to not fearing in this time in history is to see God as our defense. He will defend us if we put our trust in Him.
America: They Don’t Know the Simple Gospel
On Thursday of the outreach – our afternoon team met Tony.
Tony served in the army in Vietnam. He has been searching for truth all of his life in different religions.
He really believed that sin was forever, and the devil controls the world and there is nothing that we can do about it.
Psalm 58 – He is God Who Judges
In the modern church very rarely - if ever - do we hear a message on God – the Judge. But the truth is this – “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment….” - Hebrew 9:27.
Judgment Day is coming, and everyone will have to stand before the Judgment Seat of God.
Psalm 57 – Awaken the Dawn
Being a Christian separates us from the rest of the world in a GOOD way – we have a refuge. We have hope and life because we know where to run and how to protect our souls. This is a constant training for us because we are always going through shaking in this world.
